It may sound unscrupulous that you can even get weird allergies from things like chocolates, deodorants, milk, dust, mobile phones, touch pad, tea, coffee and many more products. You are getting frightened, rushing to doctor, and burning holes in your pockets. Relax, take a sigh of relief as these allergies are curable. Allergy, also called as hypersensitivity, is a reaction or response of your immune system to various foreign substances such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, food, insect stings, mold spores, drugs and other environmental pollutants. When these allergens comes in close proximity of the body, then it causes an allergic reaction.

There are so many types of allergies such as:

Chocolate Allergy: This type of allergy is very rare and it develops when a person is allergic to cocoa or other food additives in chocolate. Sometimes, a chocolate packet may contain mouse droppings or some insect which when consumed can also result into allergic reactions. The common symptoms of this type of allergy are acne, asthma, anxiety, depression, headaches, hay fever, eczema, hives, rectal itching, heartburn, coronary problems and skin irritation. In some cases, chocolate allergy may lead to diseases as serious as chronic asthma and anaphylaxis. If you are allergic to chocolate or cocoa then you need to avoid foods like cakes, candies, cocoa butter, liquor, and cocoa powder. In order to prevent yourself from getting affected by this allergy, you need to make few changes in dietary intake for suppressing the reaction. Medicines like antihistamines, topical creams, bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and epinephrine can be taken to treat the symptoms associated with chocolate allergy.

Deodorant Allergy: Deodorants or perfumes that you wear daily can also trigger some sort of allergic reactions. These are basically antiperspirant applied to the skin for suppressing body odors. In this type of allergy, your body tends to develop different reactions like sneezing, watery eyes and nose, headaches, rashes, series of red and inflamed bumps, itching or burning sensation at the areas where the skin is thin and quite sensitive. A wide array of tests like patch tests, skin prick tests and blood tests can be performed to diagnose deodorant allergy. There are myriad of ways that can help you prevent contracting allergies from deodorant. When buying deodorant, always check its ingredients first and then perform mini patch tests to identify whether this product is too strong for you or not. At the time of putting deodorant make sure that it is sprayed on the clothes, not on your skin.

Milk Allergy: Milk allergy occurs when the proteins present in the cow’s milk reacts with the immune system of our body. This type of allergy is generally seen in infants as their digestive system are not often strong for digesting milk and milk based products properly. Even adults are also susceptible to milk allergies. The consumption of milk can result into different types of ailments such as wheezing, vomiting, hives, loose stools, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, running nose, and skin rashes. In some critical conditions, it may lead to asthma, eczema and gastro intestinal problems. If you are suffering from milk allergy, then the first precautionary step that you are needed to avoid milk and resort to other alternatives such as soymilk, soy butter, fruit juice, puddings, soy and rice-based deserts ice pops and other non dairy products. Apart from this, anti allergy drugs like oral sodium cromoglycate can also taken to prevent adverse reactions.

Mobile Phone Allergy: Scientifically known as mobile phone mast electromagnetism, is a type of allergy in which radiation or microwaves generated by the mobile phones can trigger an allergic response in those who are suffering from eczema or dermatitis. The mobile phones that we use may increase resting blood pressure, confusion, anxiety and short-term memory loss. Radio waves emitted out from the mobile phones have the tendency to disrupt some part of the brain that are used for controlling memory and learning. In a rec

Some of the weird allergies that might affect health are caused by some very common things. Allergies can affect anyone and it is very essential to identify what you are allergic to and find out the best available treatment for it.

  • themedicaKiss allergy: It may sound humorous that kisses can also trigger allergic reactions in humans. Real kisses can develop hives, rashes, itchy eyes, blisters on eyelids, puffy lips, wheezing and respiratory distress. A small peck on cheek does not pose any serious dangers but passionate kisses can. In order to prevent yourself from the risks of kiss allergy, one can take antihistamine tablets, topical creams, and other anti allergy medications. Besides medicines, one can also follow these simple steps such as brushing teeth, rinsing mouth and chewing gum properly before indulging into any type of kiss.

  • Underwear Allergy: is that type of reaction in which skin develops rashes, itching and even blisters. The underwear allergy is very troublesome to the extent that it is painful while touching or rubbing that area. Anyone suffering from underwear allergy can get rid of it very easily and quickly. There has been an immense explosion of health related information on the Internet and otherwise. Consequently, people have become health conscious and actively seek out ways to remain healthy. While health services have improved and people are more informed, the costs of medical expenses are rising rapidly at an annual annual rate ranging between 10–15%. As a result more often than not a layman on a look out for information about his or her medical condition or in general, types in a keyword on a favorite search engine and gets thousands of websites providing information on various topics.

The brighter side of it is that information is quickly available and there’s hordes of it, however there’s no guarantee that all that one reads up on the Internet is true. The situation becomes even more serious when the information concerns your personal health. Misinformation about health issues and acting on it can make your condition worse.
themedica This brings us to the realization that there are many who claim to provide useful health information, however, unless it’s trustworthy you’ve got more to lose than gain.

Considering that you land up at a credible health portal, you can get loads of information about various aspects. You could explore health topics about conditions, diseases and wellness. If you’ve already got a prescription from a doctor or you’ve bought an over-the-counter medicine then you can find information about the drugs, herbs and supplements. Many portals offer encyclopedic information in an easy to comprehend format providing insight to patients through pictures, diagrams and animations.

Sometimes you may find that you’ve been diagnosed with a medical condition that you may have never heard about (and find it to be a tongue twister too!), that’s when the dictionary like features of a portal help you to decipher spellings and definitions of medical words. The other crucial aspects of medical information are the current health news and press announcements, as the medical science is characterized by rapid advances in knowledge.

Furthermore, it sometimes happens that specialty medics exist in your area offering the services that you need but you aren't aware of their presence. The Health directory services help you with information about the doctors, dentists, services and hospitals etc, to help you make a choice about consultation. Through directories, not only do you find out about the medical services but also libraries, organizations, international sites can be accessed through quality portals.

So far so good, but how about the validity of the information you get through health portals? Much of the criticism about health portals borders around the validity of information. At times people ignore who is responsible for the content, and only read up the information that’s been published. It can be harmful to ignore a medical literature’s authorship. An entity providing such information could be a government, a non-profit institution, a professional organization, a health system, a commercial organization or even an individual. Not only do the motives of these sources vary, but so does the authenticity of their claims. themedica When a person is ill he or she is stressed out and desperate to get out of his or her challenging situation. At the same time there isn't a dearth of websites that make claims about a "breakthrough" treatments or a "secret ingredient" that cures. Some even make use of sensational writing styles to convince the readers into buying. It's sad but true that an ill person might actually buy into such claims without establishing their reliability.

Science is cumulative and medical science is no exception, new findings override the older ones. However, a layman looking for information on a portal might not pay enough attention the currency of the information, rather take in whatever is doled out to him or her. Furthermore, there might be websites that publish content to promote their services rather than to neutrally provide information. Hence, their content may just be a
